OUR JOURNEY

Safire Technology Group emerged in 2020 from a 5-year R&D effort led by U.S. Dept. of Energy Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL), and a commercialization effort sponsored by FedTech. Forming directly out of these efforts, the team consists of a world-leading expert in electrochemical energy storage and seasoned business leaders with decades of extensive experience in bringing new technologies to market in both private and public sectors.

OUR MISSION

Redefining Battery Safety

For all their benefits, lithium-ion batteries are flawed: kinetic impact can cause fire, making them unsafe and unreliable.  In mitigating risks, available solutions are costly and involve added weight (heavy shielding) or reduced battery performance. That is no longer the case. SAFIRE™ additive can be injected into any lithium-ion battery cell.
